Course description
The course “Climate Policy in Ukraine” is aimed at developing knowledge and skills in the field of environmental/climate law among higher education students, understanding the legal obligations of states and mechanisms for their implementation, as well as developing practical approaches to implementing international norms into national legislation.
The course aims to develop a deep understanding of the legal, economic and environmental foundations of Ukraine’s climate policy. This includes an analysis of international commitments (such as the Paris Agreement, the Kyoto Protocol, the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change), European integration processes and the development of climate change adaptation strategies; conducting a comprehensive cost-benefit analysis of proposed climate policy measures in order to assess their economic feasibility, effectiveness and impact on various sectors of the economy and society.
