On 4 May 2021, Odessa State Environmental University held an International Transdisciplinary Discussion Panel ‘Climate Change – a Global Challenge of Today’ under the ClimEd project.
The meeting, which took place on the Zoom platform, was aimed at covering relevant information on climate change and its inevitable consequences for public health, as well as involvement of the representatives of practical health care, healthcare administrators, managers, decision-makers, scientists and teachers of medical HEIs in the survey, in order to highlight and assess the educational needs of climate services, development of the medical component of adaptation measures and preparation for these real challenges.
In total, the discussion was attended by 26 participants – representatives of partner HEIs and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO).
Oleg Shabliy, Head of OSENU Foreign Relations Department and Local Project Manager of ERASMUS+ ClimEd at OSENU, was the moderator of the event. The keynote speakers were Anna Timofeeva, Capacity Development Expert of the WMO Executive Board, Olena Golovina, Member of the International Academy of Environmental Sciences, Human and Nature Safety, International Biometeorological Society, Tetiana Shablii, Associate Professor of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Project Manager of ERASMUS+ ClimEd at ONMedU, as well as Professor Sergiy Stepanenko, Rector of Odessa State Environmental University, National Coordinator of the ERASMUS+ ClimEd Project (with a poster report).
