Course description

The course “Fundamentals of Global Climate Dynamics and Modelling” is part of the professional training cycle for master’s students specializing in climate services.

The primary objective of the course is to provide students with a systematic knowledge of the external and internal mechanisms that govern the functioning and interaction of the components of the climate system, as well as the triggers that cause climate change. Particular attention is paid to the direct impact of human activity on the climate system and the feedback effects of climate change on the socio-economic life of humanity.

The course is designed to facilitate the training of qualified specialists in the field of climate services, equipping them with the essential theoretical knowledge of climate science required to establish, develop, and continuously enhance Ukraine’s climate service system. Given the urgent need to address climate change, mitigate the impacts of the war, and support post-war reconstruction, climate services in Ukraine have acquired exceptional relevance.
