The ClimEd Scientific and Educational Platform is an integrated digital, educational, and infrastructural ecosystem created to support climate education, professional training, research activities, and the practical use of climate, meteorological, and environmental data. It brings together educational courses, video lectures, a professional network, collaborative workspaces, data analysis and visualisation tools, expert support, and equipped learning facilities at partner universities.
The central learning component is the ClimEd Learning Platform, based on Moodle, where courses, learning materials, practical assignments, tests, forums, and other resources are available for students, PhD candidates, teachers, researchers, and professionals. Video lectures, webinars, and instructional materials are available through the ClimEd YouTube channel, while professional communication, thematic groups, knowledge exchange, and interaction among participants are supported through the ClimEd Network.
Each course within the ClimEd educational programmes is accompanied by a detailed course profile, which specifies the number of modules, lectures, practical assignments and tests, as well as supporting materials, including course leaflets and syllabi in both English and Ukrainian. The profile also identifies the teachers responsible for course delivery. The full collection of course profiles is available on the ClimEd Network.
The AFFiNE Collaborative Space is used for joint planning, course development, visual diagrams, stakeholder maps, impact chains, adaptation plans, student and research projects, and the organisation of Living Lab activities. It enables users to work with documents, interactive whiteboards, databases, roadmaps, and team workspaces within a single digital environment.
The ThingsBoard component provides interactive visualisation of meteorological and environmental data collected from sensors and IoT devices. These data can be used in courses, practical assignments, student research, and the development of applied climate services.
A separate Climate Data and Tools section provides information on climate data sources, online services, interactive atlases, QGIS, ArcGIS, RStudio, and other tools for analysing, modelling, and mapping climate information. The physical foundation of the platform is formed by the ClimEd Learning Labs – equipped classrooms at Ukrainian partner universities designed for face-to-face, online, and blended learning.
Together, all components create a complete learning and practice cycle: education, communication, collaboration, analysis of real-world data, expert support, and practical application of knowledge. The platform supports the long-term use of ClimEd project results and contributes to the further development of climate education and climate services in Ukraine.
