ClimEd courses are being promoted and prepared for presentation on reputable national and international educational platforms. This expands access to the project’s learning materials, supports their integration into formal and non-formal education, ensures the long-term use of ClimEd results, and strengthens the international visibility of Ukrainian climate education.
Climate University
Climate University is a network of Finnish higher education institutions dedicated to educating professionals and leaders capable of advancing sustainable transformation in society and business. The platform offers interdisciplinary online courses on climate change, sustainability, biodiversity, the circular economy, climate communication, planetary health, and systemic transformation. Its educational resources are available to a broad audience and can be used by students and teachers or integrated into the curricula of other educational institutions.
Promoting ClimEd courses through Climate University creates opportunities to present them to an international academic audience, incorporate them into inter-university cooperation, and use them in an English-language educational environment. ClimEd topics, including climate services, climate change adaptation, climate data analysis, and the training of professionals for climate-sensitive sectors, complement the interdisciplinary course portfolio of Climate University.
Ukrainian-German Digital Teaching Network
The Ukrainian-German Digital Teaching Network, DTN, is an inter-university Moodle platform for non-formal education, created for environmental professionals, sustainability practitioners, and learners interested in sustainable transformation. The platform hosts online courses developed by leading universities in Ukraine and Germany in such areas as natural resource management, environmental protection, climate policy, digital tools, data analysis, project management, and related fields. It serves as a shared academic space for professional development, knowledge exchange, and transdisciplinary cooperation.
A dedicated category for ClimEd courses is already being developed on the DTN platform. This makes it possible to host the project’s learning materials in a structured Moodle environment and to support learner registration, progression through course modules, completion of assignments and tests, communication with teachers, and assessment of learning outcomes. Hosting ClimEd courses on this platform will facilitate their use by Ukrainian and international students, teachers, professionals, and participants in continuing professional development programmes.
WMO Global Campus
The WMO Global Campus is a global initiative of the World Meteorological Organization aimed at expanding access to education and professional training in meteorology, hydrology, climate, and related environmental services. The initiative connects educational and training institutions, Regional Training Centres, and professional organisations, creating a shared framework for exchanging learning resources, knowledge, and good practices.
The WMO Global Campus places particular emphasis on strengthening the competencies of staff from National Meteorological and Hydrological Services, improving the quality of education and training programmes, expanding distance learning, supporting compliance with WMO professional standards, and promoting the open sharing of educational resources with due regard to copyright and quality assurance requirements.
Presenting ClimEd courses within the WMO Global Campus environment could significantly expand their international reach and provide access to professionals from meteorological and hydrological services, teachers, trainers, and researchers from different countries. ClimEd courses on climate services, professional competencies, climate data analysis, risk assessment, climate change adaptation, and decision support are especially relevant to this platform.
The promotion and placement of ClimEd courses on these platforms create a multi-level system for disseminating project results: from Ukrainian-German academic cooperation through DTN, to the European university network of Climate University, and the global professional environment of the WMO Global Campus.
