Course description
The course is aimed at developing a holistic understanding of climate change adaptation and the implementation of sustainable water management principles in the context of modern global challenges. It examines European and national approaches to climate policy, risk assessment tools, and management decision-making, as well as contemporary adaptation practices at different levels. Particular attention is paid to the impact of climate change on water resources, issues of environmental safety, the efficient use of natural resources, and the transition to low-carbon development. The course also covers approaches to achieving climate neutrality in the water sector, particularly through the implementation of innovative management strategies and decarbonization. As a result of the course, students acquire theoretical knowledge and practical skills in analyzing climate risks, developing adaptation measures, and applying the principles of sustainable development in the water sector.
