Course description
The course “Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation Plans in Energy” is designed to:
- build an understanding of the practical mechanisms for implementing climate change adaptation measures at various levels of governance;
- introduce technological solutions that enhance the climate resilience of infrastructure, cities, and natural systems;
- studying the policy and governance tools necessary for integrating adaptation policies into national and local development strategies;
- analyzing the role of local communities, businesses, and civil society organizations in implementing adaptation measures;
- developing skills in planning, assessing, and implementing adaptation strategies across various sectors of the economy and territorial governance;
- developing the ability to assess climate risks and select effective adaptation measures for specific territories and sectors.
The main objective of the course is to prepare specialists to develop and implement comprehensive climate change adaptation strategies that combine technological innovations, effective governance policies, and active public participation. The module is focused on the practical application of knowledge in professional practice, taking into account Ukraine’s national and international climate commitments.
This course combines elements of online and offline learning (blended learning) and lasts one semester.
