Course description

The course “UN Sustainable Development Goals and Goal 13 in Healthcare” is designed to develop a systematic understanding of the relationship between sustainable development, climate change and population health. Within the course, participants will become familiar with the structure of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, the specific role of Goal 13 “Climate Action”, and the ways in which it can be integrated into health policy, planning and healthcare practice.
Special attention is paid to the impact of climate change on health, including heat stress, air quality, infectious risks, mental health and the consequences of extreme weather events. The course also covers global megatrends, future climate scenarios, approaches to planning adaptation measures, and examples of practical implementation at the level of healthcare facilities and communities.
Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to explain the role of the SDGs and Goal 13 in transforming the health system, interpret climate-related health risks, identify vulnerable population groups, and propose micro-interventions to improve the climate resilience of healthcare facilities and communities.
