The ClimEd Learning Platform is a specialised digital educational environment created within the ClimEd project to support continuous, multi-level education in the fields of climate services, climate change mitigation, and adaptation.
The platform is based on Moodle and provides structured access to learning materials, video lectures, presentations, practical assignments, tests, forums, glossaries, and additional resources. Users can progress through learning modules, complete assignments, undertake assessments, participate in discussions, and monitor their own learning progress.
The platform offers a wide range of courses in Ukrainian and English. These include:
- educational components for PhD training in climate services;
- educational components for Master’s training in climate services;
- Master’s-level training in climate change adaptation and mitigation;
- professional development and continuing education programmes;
- massive open online courses.
The course portfolio covers climate data management, the development of climate products, climate modelling, climate policy, professional communication, climate risk assessment, adaptation planning, the economics of climate change, and decision support.
Particular attention is given to applied learning for different sectors of the economy. The platform includes courses and modules for agriculture, water management, energy, urban management, construction and architecture, health care, and other sectors sensitive to climate change. This approach makes it possible to adapt general knowledge on climate change to specific professional needs.
The Learning Platform is designed for students, PhD candidates, teachers, researchers, staff of hydrometeorological services, representatives of national and local authorities, local communities, businesses, non-governmental organisations, and professionals working in climate-sensitive sectors. It supports both formal education within academic programmes and non-formal learning, professional development, and continuing training.
The platform is the central learning component of the ClimEd scientific and educational ecosystem and is connected with its other resources, including the YouTube video library, ClimEd Network, AFFiNE Collaborative Space, ThingsBoard, and the Climate Data and Tools section. This allows users to combine theoretical learning with professional communication, collaborative work, analysis of real-world data, and the practical application of digital tools.
