Odesa I. I. Mechnikov National University Became the Legal Successor of Odesa State Environmental University in the ClimEd Project

As of 1 June 2024, Odesa I. I. Mechnikov National University (ONU) officially became the legal successor of Odesa State Environmental University (OSENU). The institutional changes took place in accordance with the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on the reorganization of the network of higher education institutions.

As the legal successor of OSENU, ONU assumed all rights and obligations related to the implementation of the ClimEd project, ensuring the continuity of its activities. The transfer of functions will not affect the project’s objectives, partnership, or implementation plan.

Odesa I. I. Mechnikov National University will continue to perform the functions of the national coordinator of ClimEd in Ukraine, maintaining close cooperation with the project coordinator, the University of Helsinki, as well as all Ukrainian and European partners.

The ClimEd consortium continues its joint work to advance climate education, climate services, climate change adaptation, and the sustainable development of Ukraine.
