Mitigation and Adaptation Strategies in Ukraine for city management
Course description
The course is designed to train professionals capable of integrating climate considerations into strategic and spatial planning for the development of cities and communities. The goal of the course is to train professionals capable of integrating strategic mitigation decisions into the planning of urban infrastructure, energy, and public utilities. The need for such training stems from the growing risks of extreme weather events, heat waves, flooding, and other climate-related threats that directly impact the safety and well-being of urban populations. At the organizational, community, and national levels, the course will help ensure more effective resource management, reduce economic losses, and facilitate Ukraine’s fulfillment of its international climate policy commitments.
