Course description
A course on current approaches to forecasting climate change using regional climate models (RCMs) and global development scenarios such as SRES, RCP and SSP.
Today, the fact of global warming is beyond doubt and can be experimentally proven: an increase in the global temperature of the air and oceans, a change in the surface of sea ice, an increase in the level of the Light Ocean confirmed by adequate instrumental precautions. The climate changes that are expected to occur over the next decades will not cease to affect them. In connection with this, methods for forecasting global climate change and their possible consequences are being actively developed, among which mathematical methods for modeling atmospheric processes are coming to the fore. Coming climate change is one of the greatest challenges facing humanity in the new century. The need for information about climate change is necessary in order to assess its impact on human and natural systems through the development of different adaptation mechanisms and strategies for mitigating the negative the influx of climate change on the national and regional levels.
To assess possible changes in the regional climate of Ukraine, you can analyze the results of modeling, which were obtained for the territory of Europe within the framework of the CMIP3 project (Coupled Model Intercomparison Project, phase 3). This project was carried out by the Intergovernmental Group of Climate Change Experts (MGEC) and organizations to monitor future climate change using global climate models. Hence, the development of techniques for analysis and visualization of climatic information and the necessary competence of future master’s degrees in climatology and the work of health care professionals. from the climatic zones of the Ukrainian economy
