International ClimEd Workshop on the Standardization of Professional Development Programmes and Digital Learning Tools Held in Odesa

In November 2025, Odesa I. I. Mechnikov National University hosted the international Erasmus+ ClimEd workshop “Standardization of Professional Development Courses, Digital Tools, and Mutual Expertise”, dedicated to the standardization of continuing professional development programmes, digital learning tools and mutual expert review of the developed courses.

Over five days, participants discussed current challenges in climate education, innovative approaches to adult learning, digital technologies for course development and quality assurance. The programme included lectures on climate change, water resources, climate risks, public health, spatial analysis and the use of climate raster datasets, practical QGIS sessions, and round tables on andragogy, course branding and mutual review of educational materials. An important component was a visit to the V. Ye. Tairov Institute of Viticulture and Winemaking, dedicated to the adaptation of the agricultural sector to climate change.

The workshop became an important stage in the transition from course development to course standardization, ensuring common approaches to specialist training and the introduction of modern digital solutions into Ukraine’s climate education system.
