ClimEd Project Roundtable at the Second International Scientific and Practical Conference “Climate Services: Science and Education”

On Wednesday, April 17, 2025, from 15:30 to 17:30, within the framework of the Second International Scientific and Practical Conference “Climate Services: Science and Education” a roundtable “Bridging the gap between provision climate services and needs of climate-dependent sectors” was held under the International Erasmus+ ClimEd project. The event was dedicated to discussing current issues related to the project’s implementation and the opportunities for advancing climate services in Ukraine.
The event was moderated by Sviatoslav Turiakov (Project Manager from the Grant Coordinator – University of Helsinki).
During the roundtable, presentations were delivered by
✅ Sviatoslav Tiuriakov (University of Helsinki),
✅ Oleksandr Mahura (Leader of Work Package No. 5 – Capacity Development),
✅ Inna Khomenko, and Jon Xavier Olano Pozo (Co-leaders of Work Package No. 3 – Course Development),
highlighting the current results achieved within the project.
💬 The discussion focused on two key challenges in the field of climate services:
identifying gaps in existing climate education that hinder the effective use of climate services;
strengthening cooperation between climate service providers and end-users.
Active participants in the discussion included Svyatoslav Tyuryakov, Jon Xavier Olano Pozo, Valeriia Ovcharuk, Inna Khomenko, Oksana Kuklyshyn, and Ruslana Stavetska.
